I recently attended a live painting art battle as a participating artist. The Olive Harper Foundation hosted the gala event at Airship 37 in Toronto. The theme was whimsical and we had about an hour to paint. After the piece was completed we explained the inspiration behind it and put it up for auction.
I named the painting "Lavender Whimsy", I was inspired by the beauty of nature; it's where most of us connect as humans, as it centers our soul. The movement of the lavender flowers and foliage blowing through the wind gives this piece more of a whimsical feeling as well. During the night I saw a women dancing away with the painting I did and she said, her husband bought the painting and she loves it. The painting was sold for $250 and all the proceeds went to the children's charities: SickKids, Emily's House and Gabriel's Gift.
